COLLABORATION WITH ZANDRA RHODES
To create a new creative outlet and brand within the greater Zandra Rhodes brand, designing and planning a product aimed towards a future audience.
“OLFACTORY”
Encapsulates her image within the overall conceptual idea.
Utilising Zandra’s use of sensory based inspiration, many of which were inspired by her travels and items she displays in her house.
LIVING ROOM COLLECTION OF POTTERY
The bottle design itself came from the various pottery designs that Zandra has within her collection. She has worked closely with some of the most creative pottery designers and sculptors in the UK, and so, the use of more abstract designs with floral imagery served as a basis for the final bottle design.
“ISSEY MIYAKE’S LILY”
Taking inspiration from Zandra’s ‘Tokyo Lily’ print, this was of particular interst to me due to my Japanese background, as well as the print being a gift from Issey Miyake, an inspiration of mine. The bottle design is inspired by potter Kate Malone, who is a close friend of Zandra’s, and uses the form of a Japanese traditional sweet lily. The purpose of the bottle design is to show how the artistic expression of Zandra is not simply limited to the scent, rather encapsulating everything around it. Contrary to Zandra Rhodes’ typical designs, consisting of many colors, the colors were designed with black as the base color. According to physics, mixing cyan, magenta, and yellow, which are collectively known as the primary colours, produces black.
